Dangers of Looking up in hell too late
STRONG WARNING; Do not wait to look up too late in hell
The facts spoken by Jesus in Luke 16: 19-31
19 There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
20 And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
21 And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover, the dogs came and licked his sores.
22 And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
23 And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
24 And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
25 But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
26 And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
27 Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
28 For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
29 Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
30 And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
31 And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.
Facts to recognize.
- Nobody is too rich or too poor to die.
- One day every body will look up to God.
- One day every man must cry to God, and say, “Have mercy on me”. Either now or in hell.
- God wants you in heaven, satan wants you in hell. It is your choice.
- 102 people die on earth every minute.
- Facts in hell;
- It is place of great thirst, where one drop of water is very precious.
- It is a place of torment.
- It is a place of no escape. It is permanent prison.
- It is a place with tormenting fire.
- It is a place you shall remember all your sins
- It is a place you shall never wish anybody came there.
- It is a place you shall remember your sinful relatives.
- It is a place you shall remember you were told to avoid going before you died.
- It is avoided by those who repent now.
- It is a place of eternal painful, hopelessness
Compare the following:
| Today | After you die | |
| On earth for a maximum of 120 years | In hell for more than 1000 years | In heaven for more than 1000 years |
| You are now too busy now to have time for God. You can say, “I have better appointments now” | But, one day you shall become too idle enough in hell and look to God, but it shall be too late. You shall not be able to go to that job. Chained in hell is idle enough. | One day you shall be glad that you were too busy for God. |
| You are now too rich to look up to God. You can say, “I miss nothing”, | But, one day you shall become too poor enough in hell to need God but it shall be too late. You can not sign a cheque or call a driver. | One day you shall be glad that you invested your life in God. |
| You are now too sinful to think about God. You can say, “I am drinking, having sex with anybody, am immoral, stealing, lying and we are many” | But, one day you shall become too saintly enough in hell to look to God but it shall be too late, after spending 1000 in hell without drinking and being immoral. | One day you shall be glad that you repented and believed in Jesus Christ as your savior and Lord to be a saint on earth. |
| You are now too big enough to look up to God. You can say, “who does not know me, I can not be ignored in my village”. |
But, one day you shall become too small enough in hell to look up to God but it shall be too late | One day you shall be glad you humbled yourself enough to receive the grace of God in Christ Jesus. |
| You are now too young to think about God. You can say, “I am strong and beautiful, who can scare me?”. | But, one day you shall become too old enough in hell and look up to God but it shall be too late | One day you shall be glad you remembered your creator in the days of your youth and feared God. |
| You are now too sufficient enough with goods and technology. You can say, “am not desperate for anything”. | But, one day you shall become too deficient enough in hell and look up to God but it shall be too late. | One day you shall be glad that you realized that your sufficiency is in a relationship with God in Christ Jesus. |
|
You have too many friends now to have time to wait for God. You can say, “if God needs me he can call my number” |
One day you shall be lonely enough to need the companion of God’s creation. | One day you shall be glad that you had time to fellowship with God. |
